Welcome to Our Fire

This is more than a book.

It’s a journey across war and tenderness, across dying and becoming.

Written between hospital nights and desert dawns, “The Threshold” is born of one vow:

To witness everything.

I am Fred—soldier and lover—and Lily is the soul beside me, still burning even as the wind tries to take her breath.

Together, we invite you to step inside.

Not to be entertained—but to remember what matters.

TASTE OUR REAL STORY

Where the Doves Never Returned

A Belgian soldier. A Filipina teacher. A stadium in Thailand.

They met by chance. They stayed by choice.

Then came the war no training prepares you for: pancreatic cancer.

This is the story of how two lives collided, held on,

and made something gentle in the middle of the storm.

The doves in this book do not fly—they tremble, rebuild, and rise.

I didn’t write this for fame. I wrote it so she could read it—

so she could see herself through my eyes before the world forgot.

You won’t find heroes here. Just a man who stayed,

and a woman who kept smiling through pain that would silence most.

We were never safe. But we were never alone.

And maybe that’s enough.

— Fred

The doves never returned. But we built anyway.
